Tasting note: A light, perfumed red with lifted aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry and rose petal, followed by subtle notes of dried herb, wet earth and a hint of spice. The palate is fresh and focused — bright acidity frames fine-grained, silky tannins and a medium-light body, finishing with a savoury, mineral-tinged persistence.
Producer notes: From the family-run Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret (Jean Mongeard), this cuvée showcases higher-elevation fruit from the Hautes Côtes de Nuits. The domaine is known for restrained yields and careful vineyard work that favors clarity and aromatic precision.
Winemaking notes: Fermented with gentle extraction to preserve aromatic lift, matured briefly in neutral and lightly toasted French oak to add structure without overwhelming fruit purity. Bottled to retain freshness and terroir expression.
Vineyard notes: Parcels on higher slopes bring cooler nights and good drainage, promoting bright acidity and refined tannin. Soils of mixed clay and limestone lend the wine its mineral backbone and elegant backbone.
