Tasting note: On the nose this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru opens with ripe dark fruits—blackberry and black cherry—layered with cedar, dried tobacco and a gentle spice note. The palate is medium–full, polished and well structured: smooth, silky tannins frame concentrated fruit, with an earthy-mineral thread and a persistent, gently savory finish. Producer notes: From Chateau Coutet, a respected property in Saint-Emilion under the ownership of David Beaulieu, this bottling presents the estate's focus on balance and site expression. It aims for ripe fruit intensity without sacrificing freshness or structure. Winemaking: Carefully managed vinification emphasizes gentle extraction and maturation to preserve aromatic complexity. Aging in oak adds subtle spice and cedar lift while keeping tannins refined and integrated. Vineyard: Fruit comes from vineyards typical of the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru plateau—well-drained soils with mineral and clay-limestone influence that lend both concentration and an elegant mineral backbone. Serving: Best opened and decanted about 60–90 minutes before serving to let aromas bloom and tame primary edges. Serve at cellar-warm temperatures around 16–18°C.
